Matrices
(may TRUH seas)

Matrices is my personal character. She's the character I use to represent me and I use her name as my online presence. The actual character, Matrices, is essentially me, but in furry form. I play her simply as I would act myself. Her name is the plural form of "matrix," meaning: That in which anything develops, takes shape, or is contained.

Age: Unknown, but approximately 19 - 21 years.
Created: October 1999
Species: Fox/wolfdog Hybrid
Gender: Female
Appearance: Her fur is a solid light grayish color, save for the stark white crescent moon shaped blaze on her forehead, and there is also a white tip on the end of her long floofy tail. Her body is built like a wolf, large paws with blunt claws that are the same color as her fur, and strong legs. Her head structure appears to be more doglike, her muzzle is square with a large, moist dark grey/black nose. Her eyes are a vile shade of green. She does not have hair, just fur all the same length except on her neck (behind her cheeks and at the top of her chest), elbows, and tail. Her large darker grey-tipped, pointed ears are lower on her head, making them rest in a normally folded back position (kind of like a dog's "rose ear" but the ear itself covers the opening, and when perked they become erect, revealing white and cream inner-ear hairs with light pink skin). Light pink paw pads are on each hand and foot (though the finger pads are not always drawn).
If anthropomorphic, she stands 5'5" tall, if on all fours, she's between 2 or 2 1/2 feet at the shoulder.
She typically wears a red spiked collar loosely around her neck in either form, but not always. If anthropomorphic, her shirts are variable, from dark red, green, or black, to other colors. Her pants are almost always baggy at the bottoms, as if she perpetually buys pants too long for her. She doesn't wear shoes, her toes usually sticking out just barely underneath her pant's legs.
Artist's Comments: Matrices is essentially me, but in furry form. Her personality is closest to my own, she acts and talks like I would. She's Mukilteo's sister.

The Origin of Matrices.

Well, it all started in one of those old beseen.com chat rooms, and I made up Mukilteo. I role-played as him in the Sinlahekin regularly. And I was trying to think up names for characters I could play. All the characters I played were usually male, since the majority of the people who went to the chat were female and preferred to play female characters.
I had made up a short background story for Mukilteo based on a short dream I had which I later based a story off of, where I was a fox was captured and illegally tested in a laboratory. The fox was one of Mukilteo's biological parents, the other, being an unknown wolfdog.
At the time I was obsessed with the movie the Matrix, since it had just came out and I saw it a million bajillion times. So I looked it up in the dictionary, of course that's what I do with all my new-found obsessions to glean the tiniest bits of trivial information, and came across the plural... "Matrices." I felt that'd be a good name for a female character, since it also meant something along the lines of 'mother' 'womb' etc, and later on I thought it would be funny if she was sterile (since her species combination would be if it existed in reality) yet still had the name Matrices.
Since this was my first female character I had given her many of my personality traits, and I had even given her somewhat my appearance (she originally had medium-length brown hair in the same style I wore mine). A connection was made and she became Mukilteo's "sister" although they would probably never know unless a DNA test was done. But with a history like they've got, I'm sure they'd never want to see a doctor ever again.
At first.. I didn't play her in the chat room as often, since I liked Mukilteo more. But Mukilteo was nothing like me. So I acted as Matrices, or how I would really act in real life. and we RP'd up a storm. All the original RPs were lost, since nobody wrote them down... and the people who were a part of it don't really remember all of it (and neither do I) :( ...but it was insane fun back then.
I had started drawing furries more and more, and Matrices had pretty much just became me. And then I found out about actual furry art and the whole 'fursona' thing, where it would be the furry projection of my imagined self, or something like that. And I guess that's how she came to be.
She also originally had multiple forms, and supposedly could polymorph into whatever she wants. But that never went along with the story I had made up. So it was short-lived. I only did the morph thing on MUCKs where it gets somewhat boring playing the same character in the same form sometimes. So she could change into a non-anthro, change gender, change species, change into an inanimate object, etc. which somewhat goes along with the whole definition of the Matrix. which is something along the lines of "that in which anything develops, takes shape, or is contained" like a womb (female) .. etc...
But now, I no longer role play, and she only really has two forms, fully anthropomorphic (which is how I typically draw her) or "feral" or what's also considered "non-anthro" which is basically just on all fours, like a dog.
